Automation Workflows
Intelligent automation that cuts manual handoffs — with AI in the steps that need judgment and plain automation in the steps that do not.
Overview
Fewer handoffs, same systems
Automation workflows are the path from “someone copies this into three apps” to a defined sequence that runs the same way every time. Some steps are plain rules. Some steps need an AI agent. We keep those distinct so you are not paying a model to move a field that a connector can move.
The work is operational: intake, routing, approvals, notifications, and a record of what ran. MicroSky implements that as part of AI Services for Businesses — alongside agents, voice, and the integrations those flows need.
What we put in place
- A map of the current handoffs and the exceptions
- Triggers from email, forms, tickets, or a voice intake
- Rule-based steps where the logic is already clear
- Agent or model steps only where judgment is required
- Failure alerts when a step cannot complete
- An owner on your side who can pause a flow
In Practice
What good automation looks like
The boring work moves first
Copy-paste, status updates, and standard notifications are better automation than a flashy demo.
AI is optional per step
A model is used when the input is messy. A connector is used when the field is already structured.
Failures are visible
A stopped workflow is better than a silent skip that staff discover a week later.
People stay in the loop
Approvals and exceptions route to a person. Automation does not hide the decision.

Automation workflows
Workflows after Discover, not before
We do not automate a process we have not watched. Discover maps the real path, including the unofficial spreadsheet. Design names triggers, owners, and stop conditions. Deploy ships one flow. Optimize adds the next handoff once the first one is boring in a good way.
Voice agents and AI agents often sit at the front of a workflow. Connecting systems to AI is how the middle steps write back. A local AI server is only in the picture when the data in those steps cannot leave your network.
